Rabbit Hash is located in Boone County, near Carrollton. Previously named Carleton, it would be confused with Carrollton, so the name was changed to Rabbit Hash. Some say the name came after a flood drove hundreds of rabbits to the riverbank, providing plenty of rabbits to make hash;and so became the name Rabbit Hash.

Rabbit Hash may be most known for the Rabbit Hash General Store, a working general store since 1831 in the heart of historic Rabbit Hash. After a fire burned the General Store to the ground in 2016, it has been rebuilt and will have it’s grand re-opening on Saturday, April 1st. Rabbit Hash may also be known for it’s most popular resident and canine mayor.

To assist with your visit, there’s a small visitors center in a restored log cabin, open on Saturday afternoons.

Visit Rabbit Hash every Sunday for live music from 2:30-5:30 in the barn!Rabbit Hash
